Well, first, if you can't beat it, skip it. The insignia quests really aren't that important and are sort of difficult for low level players.
In general on those quests, come back when you're a little higher level. No matter what the quest is, by getting the person you're sparring against to low enough health will complete it.

I guess you mean Skill Chaining
If so you simply have to defeat the instructors. The skills they give you work well together, all the quest is about is showing you how skills can work together.

Moved to Factions Explorer League where, if you search you might find your answer.
Getting to a higher level might help, so go do some other quests and level up, then go back and beat them.

You don't have to defeat him with the skills you are given to skill chain, just defeat him as you would any other foe.

You seem to be surviving well enough if you're lasting for 20+ minutes, now you just need to adjust your bar offensively. If you have access to a profession with an interrupt or two, you should be set. Zho uses [[Troll Unguent] and Panaku uses [[Shadow Refuge], the former being very easily interrupted, and the later possibly taking a few tries. You can also use knockdown (profession specific) once you get one of them down enough. If you pay close attention to their health bars, you'll notice they predictably use their self-heal around the same % of health. Plan accordingly.
Please post your primary and secondary profession, as well as your skill bar, attributes, and equipment. We might be able to find a simple fix for you

No. The only things you have to do are primary quests and missions.
